The 2 and 5 trains run through the heart of Little Caribbean from President Street to the last stop at Flatbush Ave/Brooklyn College. The B and Q trains run along the edge of Little Caribbean making stops at Prospect Park and Church Ave. Prospect Park and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden can be accessed from the B, Q, and Franklin Avenue Shuttle.
Take the BM4 or BM4 from Manhattan’s Financial District to Little Caribbean in around 30 minutes. Coming from other neighborhoods, take the BM1 or BM3 to Cortelyou Road and East 19th Street and take a short walk east. Coming from North Brooklyn, the B44 Select Bus is a great way to get to and from Little Caribbean. We even have a bus that goes to the Rockaways: the Q35.
The quickest way to get down Flatbush Ave is the Dollar Van, which costs $2-3 (cash only). Dollar vans are small, independently owned vans and minibuses that cruise up and down Flatbush, Church, and Utica Aves, picking up passengers along the way. When you need a ride, simply signal with your hand like you would a taxi. You can pay the fare when you get on or a few stops before you get off. Drivers will happily make change. When you get close to where you’d like to get off, call out the street name to let the driver know your stop soon come. Dollar Vans get you to your destination super quick and support the local economy.
Exploring the neighborhood couldn’t be easier + more affordable + more enjoyable than by bike. It’s easy to get around with Citi Bike docking stations throughout the neighborhood and bike lanes on Bedford, Empire, Lincoln, Maple, Clarendon and Ocean Avenues. Don’t forget your helmet!
Know before you GO! These car services offer flat-rate rides to/from the airport and around the neighborhood.
